Spend Saturday, April 4th exploring nature with free admission to all of Houston Audubon’s High Island sanctuaries! Home to nearly 400 bird species and welcoming visitors from all 50 states and more than 20 countries, these world-renowned sanctuaries offer an unforgettable day of birding and wildlife viewing. Staff and volunteers will be on hand to answer questions, lead activities, and help you spot everything from colorful migratory birds to turtles and even gators along the McGovern Canopy Walkway.
Bring the whole family and enjoy special programs throughout the day:
• 10 AM – Birding 101 with Pete Deichmann (Morse Field Station)
• 10 AM – Guided Walk at Bolivar Flats Shorebird Sanctuary (meet on the beach at the bollards)
• 11 AM – Rookery Talk on the McGovern Canopy Walkway at Smith Oaks Bird Sanctuary
It’s the perfect opportunity to experience the beauty of High Island and Bolivar Peninsula while learning more about the incredible wildlife of the Upper Texas Coast.
