Discover the natural wonders of Bolivar Flats Shorebird Sanctuary with Sanctuary Manager Wyatt Egelhoff! Walk the beach and venture onto the flats as you explore what the tides and forces of nature have left behind in the sand and wrack lines while learning about the incredible diversity of life found along the Gulf Coast.

Make it a family day trip! Ride the Galveston–Bolivar Ferry, watch for dolphins, discover shorebirds and shellfish, and learn about the coastal ecosystems that make Bolivar Flats such a special place.

This FREE program is open to all ages and takes place on the first Saturday of each month. Meet at 10:00 AM at the vehicular barrier. Take TX-87 to Rettilon Road, turn right at the beach, and travel approximately 3/4 mile.
