Join Houston Audubon for a FREE monthly guided nature walk on Bolivar Peninsula with the popular Bolivar Beach Rambles program. Held on the first Saturday of every month, these family-friendly outdoor events are led by Houston Audubon Sanctuary Manager Wyatt Egelhoff at the beautiful Bolivar Flats Shorebird Sanctuary near Crystal Beach, Texas. Participants will enjoy a relaxed walk along the beach while learning to identify local and migratory birds, explore coastal wildlife habitats, and discover fascinating shells, driftwood, and natural treasures left behind by the Gulf of Mexico. The walk begins at 10:00 AM at the vehicular barrier on the beach (Take TX-87 to Rettilon Road, turn right onto the beach, and travel approximately ¾ mile). The event is open to all ages and experience levels, making it a perfect activity for birders, nature lovers, families, and visitors to Bolivar Peninsula. Please note that a Bolivar Peninsula beach parking sticker is required for all vehicles ($10 and available for purchase locally). Be sure to check the Houston Audubon online calendar for upcoming dates and plan your next outdoor adventure on the Upper Texas Coast!
