Weekly East Galveton Bay Fishing Report 6/3/26

The topwater bite has been excellent during early morning and late afternoon trips.
Walking-style topwater baits are producing exciting strikes from trout and are a great option for
anglers who enjoy fishing the surface.

Redfish fishing in East Galveston Bay has also been productive, especially along
grass lines with moving water. These areas continue to hold quality fish throughout the day.

Reef Fishing and Bird Activity

When wind conditions allow, anglers are beginning to find quality trout on reefs located in the
middle portions of the bay. This pattern should continue to improve as water temperatures rise
throughout the spring and early summer.

Working birds can also be found on many days across the bay. Anglers targeting bird activity
should be prepared to catch a number of gafftop catfish mixed in with the trout.

Spring Fishing on the Upper Texas Coast

Fishing continues to improve across East Galveston Bay as warmer temperatures increase fish
activity. Whether you’re targeting trout, redfish, or flounder, now is one of the best times of
the year to enjoy fishing around Crystal Beach and Bolivar Peninsula before the peak summer
crowds arrive.
