Speckled Trout Fishing Update
Most of this week’s success has come from fishing shoreline flats over scattered shell.

Anglers are finding the best trout bite using imitation shrimp lures and soft plastic tails under popping corks
with a 1-foot leader. This setup has produced some of the most aggressive bites of the season.
Other productive artificial lures include Deadly Dudley Rat Tails and
WacAttack Flukes in light colors rigged on 1/8-ounce jig heads.
The topwater trout bite has also been strong, especially early and late in the day.
Bone-colored walking topwater baits have been a favorite choice among anglers this week.Redfish Report – Crystal Beach Marsh
Redfish fishing in East Galveston Bay has been best along grass lines and shallow marsh areas.
Incoming tides continue to push fish onto the flats, creating excellent opportunities for anglers targeting redfish
in skinny water.
Best Technique This Week
The most productive presentation over the past several days has been fishing artificial shrimp under a popping cork
using a pop, slow reel, and pause technique. This slower presentation has consistently triggered
aggressive strikes from trout and redfish across the bay system.
