Bolivar Peninsula encompasses 27 miles of Beach Shoreline on the Upper Texas Gulf Coast. The beach in Crystal Beach Texas and on Bolivar Peninsula is one of a kind, and the last of its kind. Vehicles are allowed to drive on, park and enjoy all 27 miles of coastal waters. Families and friends enjoy the day building sand castles, searching for shells and shark teeth, surf fishing, boogie boarding and more… Setting up a BBQ or just vas-king in the sun. Easy access to the beach by most cross roads off Hwy 87 makes finding that perfect location to set-up for the day a worry free event. Make sure you purchase your yearly beach parking permit from any of the many local shops or stores on Bolivar or in Crystal Beach Texas, cost is around $15 for the year. All we ask is that what you bring onto the beach you take out, helping us keep our beaches safe and clean for visitors in the future.

Fireworks

New Years Eve and July 4th on the beach front is like no other. For those that have a front row seat enjoy the fireworks on your deck, for those further back find a location on the beach, kick-back and watch the show. Most all 27 miles of beachfront is a giant Fireworks Display and one that you won’t want to miss. Enjoy Fireworks, stop by one of the many area Firework stands, load up the car or truck and enjoy Fireworks on the beach. We ask all to please pick-up your fireworks when your done, help us all keep our beaches clean and safe for future visitors.

The Galveston County Public Restroom and Rinse Shower Facility located at 941 S. Crystal Beach Dr., Crystal Beach, Texas 77650 provides a convenient stop for beachgoers enjoying time on Bolivar Peninsula. Open 24 hours a day, year-round, this facility features indoor restrooms, is ADA compliant, and also offers outdoor rinse-off showers—perfect for washing off sand and salt after a full day on the beachfront. Picnic tables are available on site, making it a comfortable place to take a short break before heading home. Whether you’re visiting for the day or spending a weekend on the Upper Texas Coast, this Galveston County facility adds convenience and comfort to your Crystal Beach experience.

Bolivar Peninsula Beach Parking Stickers

Bolivar Peninsula Beach Parking Stickers for vehicles and golf carts help keeps the beach in Crystal Beach, Texas and the entire Bolivar Peninsula clean, safe, and enjoyable for everyone. All funds from beach sticker sales stay on Bolivar Peninsula and are reinvested directly into the beach, supporting added sheriff patrols during summer and holiday weekends, trash pickup, restrooms, beach cleaning, equipment, and ongoing maintenance. Beach parking stickers are sold annually and can be purchased at area businesses or ordered online through the Galveston County Parks Department, and if you forget, a Beach Ambassador or Beach Sticker Patrol will gladly stop by and sell you one right on the beach. Visitors looking to save can purchase stickers at a discounted rate from January 1st through February at The Big Store on Fridays through Sundays at Customer Service from a Beach Ambassador. The sale of Bolivar Peninsula Beach Parking Stickers plays a vital role in protecting our beach, your beach, for families, visitors, and future generations to enjoy.

Beach Rules

  • No Littering: Help keep our beaches clean.
  • No Glass Containers: For your safety and others.
  • Stay Off the Dunes: Protected by law—preserve our natural beauty.
  • Speed Limit: 15 mph on the beach. (Texas Transportation Code 545.352(b)(5))
  • Dogs Must Be Leashed: Keep pets under control at all times.
  • Pedestrian Safety: Pedestrians always have the right of way.
  • Motorized Vehicles:
    • Driver’s licenses are required for golf carts, ATVs, UTVs, and all motorized vehicles.
    • ATV riders must wear DOT-approved helmets and goggles. (Texas Transportation Code 663.034(1)(2))
    • ATVs and UTVs must be trailered to the beach.
    • No Open Containers While Operating a Motor Vehicle

Additional Guidelines

  • No Household Trash: Use beach barrels for beach waste only.
  • Campfires: Extinguish all unattended fires.
  • Prohibited camping on the beach per Texas Penal Code 48.05
