East Galveston Bay Fishing Report 11/2/26

East Galveston Bay Fishing Report – Fall Trout and Redfish Action in Crystal Beach, Texas

East Galveston Bay Fishing Conditions

Surface water temperatures in
East Galveston Bay near Crystal Beach, Texas
are around 75 degrees. Fishing has been
productive across the bay, with good catches of speckled
trout, sand trout, and redfish.

We have been starting our fishing trips before daylight,
targeting shoreline shell beds where trout and redfish
are feeding. Light-colored paddle tails on
1/8-ounce jig heads have been working well.
We have also had success fishing soft plastics under
popping corks with a 12-inch leader.

Speckled Trout Fishing in East Galveston Bay

The speckled trout bite in East Galveston Bay
has been good, especially during the early morning hours.
The topwater bite has picked up, along with the bite on
suspending jerkbaits. If you enjoy fishing with artificial
lures, now is a great time to get on the water.

We have also found trout around rocks along the
Intracoastal Waterway, grass lines near drains, and
windblown points when conditions are right.

When the wind allows us to fish open-water reefs,
we have had some excellent days catching
speckled trout, sand trout, and large redfish.
Deadly Dudley soft plastic tails rigged on
1/4-ounce jig heads have been especially
productive in these areas.

Redfish Report – Crystal Beach and Bolivar Peninsula

Redfish fishing in East Galveston Bay
continues to produce some exciting catches.
We have found both slot-sized redfish and large
bull reds feeding along grass lines.

Recent higher tides and good tidal movement have
helped push shrimp along the grass edges, attracting
hungry redfish. Watching for shrimp activity and
feeding fish has been an important part of finding
productive fishing spots.

Shoreline shell beds, grass lines, drains, and
windblown points are all worth checking when
targeting redfish around Crystal Beach and the
surrounding bay system.

Best Artificial Lures for Fall Fishing

Some of our most productive artificial lure
setups this week have included:

  • Light-colored paddle tails on 1/8-ounce jig heads
  • Soft plastic lures under popping corks with 12-inch leaders
  • Walking topwater baits during early morning fishing
  • Suspending jerkbaits around shoreline structure
  • Deadly Dudley tails on 1/4-ounce jig heads over open-water reefs

Pay attention to wind, tides, and bait activity.
Changing your lure or fishing location based on
conditions can make a big difference in your
success on the water.
